Dr G P Garg, an eminent scientist in the field of natural products has had more than 32 years experience in differnt capacities in Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. During 1995-99, he worked as Director, Food Research & Standardisation Laboratory, Directorate General of Health Services, Government of India. Presently he is working as Senior Chief Chemist in the rank of Director with Department of Ayush, Government of India.
He has don Management Development Course from Administrative Training Institute, Government of Karnataka.
In 1981, he has done Ph.D in the field of Phytochemistry from Department of Chemistry, University of Delhi, India. Since that period, he is constantly associated with Department of Chemistry, University of Delhi in various scientific activities.
He is member and fellow of several societies and associations. He has written more than 50 articles/papers which have been published in National/International Journals. He has also delivered many lectures in National/International conferences. Recently he has chaired a scientific session "Chemistry and Biology of Anti oxidants" at Sapeinza University of Rome, Italy.
In 1989, World Health Organisation has awarded a fellowship to him in the field of "Quality Assessment of Essential Drugs". In this connection he visited Food and Drug Administration, U.S.A.
In 1197, he addressed a scientific workshop "G 15 Gene Bank of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants" organised by Forest Research Institute, Malaysia (FRIM). |
